Hi my name is Michelle (Michal) Ben-Moshe, and I am the founder of ZUMIN Nutrition. Thank you for your interest in Zumin Nutrition! My knowledge and passion comes from learning nutrition and becoming a Certified Nutrition coach specializing in healthy lifestyles, changing behaviors and personalized nutrition plans. In addition, I have a Bachelors degree in Communication and a Masters degree in Business Management (M.B.A).

After having many ups, downs, and many other changes in my health & diet during my childhood and adult life, I decided to adopt a healthy lifestyle, find the root cause of many of my health problems and help others do the same. I am devoted to to help my clients reach their goals, improve their health.

1995 - 2005

As a child growing up, I always had issues with my diet. In fact, I was pretty a chubby girl. I always liked dancing, singing and preforming. My inspiration during this time were dancers and singers like Britney Spears and Madonna. I didn’t want to be famous or look like them. All I wanted was to feel confident with my body. At school, I suffered from bullying from other children, all because I was little bit above the normal weight.

When I was 8 my mother took me to a specialist, at my request. She searched very hard to find the best professional to help me adopt healthy habits, while enhancing my self-confidence and love myself regardless of my appearance. I remember how the dietitian asked me “what are your goals?” And my answer was simple “I want to feel confident wearing my clothes”. The dietician requested that I choose my favorite outfit and use that outfit as the measurement to track my goal. With very minor modifications, it only took me several weeks to reach it. I drank a lot of water, ate more vegetables, chose wisely what I eat (only 1 candy a day), preferred plain yogurt over the sweet ones and some other small tweaks in my diet.

From my 9th birhtday, I was already able to manage a healthy lifestyle on my own, feel confident about my body and still enjoy my childhood like everyone else.

2006 - 2012

During this period of the my life, I served in the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) where I was assigned to serve as an office manager in one of the highest ranking offices directly under the command of a Major General. During my service, I gained important values such hardwork, discipline, and how to work with diverse group of people. The hard truth is that I wasn’t so disciplined with my diet as I was with the work involved in running such an important office. The stressful environment led me to gain a lot of weight and go back to unhealthy eating habits.

After completing my duty, I started obtaining my Bachelor’s degree in Communication. During this time, I found the time to adopt back to healthier eating habits. I started to exercise and be physically active. I was able to get back to my normal weight and managed healthy lifestyle.

2012 - 2016

After graduating, I started my career as a Brand and Marketing Manager. Simultaneously, I began pursuing my Masters degree. This stressful time of balancing education and work, led me again to gain a lot of weight. Not only that, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, which negatively affected my weight further.

In addition to all the stress I was going through, I moved to the United States, following the love of my life, while continuing obtaining my Masters degree remotely. Leaving my family, friends, and career wasn’t an easy task. Aside from the stress, the exposure to different tastes, foods and cultures in the United States was leading to many temptations. I wanted to taste and enjoy everything.

After a year of living in America, I decided again to go back to my old healthy eating habits. I signed up to the gym, cooked more at home, and put my healthy behaviors as a top priority.

2016 - 2019

In 2016, I was diagnosed with Helicobacter Pylori and IBS. Not only did I lose too much weight, I really suffered from digestive issues, such as bloating, reflux and gas. I tried every single diet in the industry. No acidic foods, no dairy, gluten free, FOODMAP, but nothing helped. Then, I found out about Food Sensitivity testing. The test proved to me just how much each body is different, and that each one reacts differently to different food or diet.

In 2018, I was pregnant with my child. Being pregnant led me again to gain a lot of weight which also led to be diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes. My doctor placed me on a restricted diet and that is how I was able to manage my sugar levels by myself, combining the right nutrition and exercise plan.

2019 - 2020

Going back to my pre-pregnancy weight wasn’t an easy task at all. With a busy schedule and hundreds of nights with poor sleep (a life of a mother), it seemed impossible. After a lot hard work on my diet, I managed to lose weight again. At that moment, I decided that I didn't want anymore turbulence and frequent changes in my weight and diet. This time around I was going to adopt healthy lifestyle for a lifetime! And I will pursue my passion of helping others to achieve the same goal! I enriched my knowledge in nutrition, became a Certified Nutrition Coach and partnered with a certified laboratory that provides evidence-based lab tests for better diet personalization. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I had a lot of people interested in my services which led me to the conclusion that healthy living habits are more important than ever. It also gave me the idea to perform my coaching plans completely remotely, such as video calls and Zoom meetings.

After reading my life story, I that you know more about me. I look forward to learning more about you too! Change your life and adopt healthy lifestyle approach forever!
